Goat Acre

Designing a guide to help older people choose a care home.

Goatacre Manor Care Centre, is a medium sized, family owned, nursing and residential care home, set in the North Wiltshire countryside. Goatacre Manor Care Centre has been in the O’Dea family for 30 years and continues to provide person-centred care to all our residents and their families.

The Brief

Goat Acre required a soft branded guide to distribute via their network that would enable those searching for a care home to understand the things to look for, the questions to ask and what key areas should be looked at before making a decision.

It was important to Goat Acre that the guide was not a huge sales pitch for the care home itself, but was genuinely useful to people, whatever care home they decided to opt for.

The Process

Working with a copywriter to create the content for the guide gave me a good starting point to understanding the desired look and feel for the document.

A warm, friendly, easy to read guide was formed, using the company colours in a gentle way to ensure brand recognition but without ever feeling like a piece of marketing material.

Goat Acre provided a good standard of photography to accompany the design, this helped the overall look and feel develop into a well formed piece of work.

The Result

The end result is an informative, professional, easy to read and understand guide that looks both calm and inviting. The guide allows people to feel informed without feeling like they are being pressured into choose Goat Acre as their care home of choice.
